Quilt Preparation

All quilt tops should be squared up and all seams pressed flat. If your quilt top is not square, I will contact you before I load it onto the quilt machine frame. If your quilt top seams are not pressed, there is a $15 additional charge for me to press it before quilting.

Backing fabric: Please remove all selvage edges and square up. ($15 charge if I do it.) Backing must be 4 inches larger than quilt top on all sides and pressed.

Batting: Bring your own (no Mountain Mist) or purchase Hobb 80%-20% Heirloom Premium Cotton/Polyseter Batting from me by the linear inch. Additional batting types can be ordered.

Thread: No charge for first thread. Prices for additional threads based on type and amount of thread used.

FINAL REMINDERS:

  • Quilt top, batting and backing must be separate pieces (do not baste together).
  • Square up your pieces, especially backing fabric.
  • Check that all seams are pressed.
  • NO PINS!!! – make sure there are no stow-aways hiding in your quilt.
  • Make sure your seams are secure.
  • Double check your measurements, quilt top, backing and batting. Remember that batting and backing must be at least 8″ larger than the quilt top.
  • Last but not least – double check for those pins!!!
